Bonsai -The Imagination Tree – A Division of Knoxcare Ltd
Our team at Bonsai-The Imagination Tree is delighted to announce that on 30 June 2009, Bonsai Social Firm Ltd Trading as Bonsai - The Imagination Tree merged it’s
business with Knoxcare Ltd’s Yarra View Nursery to become, Bonsai -The Imagination Tree – A Division of Knoxcare Ltd.
This merger proudly sees both businesses benefit greatly from a pooling of resources, and the outcomes immediately achieved by this will include the retention of more
than 120 jobs, the expansion of the business’ customer base, the development of new and broader product lines and the sharing of team experience to enable the
continued provision of employment opportunities for people with a disability. The acquisition will afford the organisation scope to consolidate and grow our trading

BONSAI UPDATE - AUGUST 2009
BONSAI DAIRY
August is a great time to prune deciduous trees, as the branch structure is clearly apparent and early bud swelling can indicate from where vigorous new growth is most likely to occur. This is usually the best time to re-pot deciduous trees (to replenish soil or change pots), as root disturbance is best tolerated whilst trees are relatively inactive, cool and without transpiring foliage. Sashi-Eda ® Re-potting Kits include all you need to make re-potting bonsai a simple task.
FEATURE PLANT
Juniperus pingii ‘Prostrata’ Nepal Juniper
Naturally, a vigorous and impressive evergreen groundcover plant, but also one of the most popular bonsai subjects. Typically growing horizontal, shoots may be easily trained up and wired to hold fascinating upright form (left), or allowed to cascade (right). Produces interesting gnarly stems with flaky bark, and stiff, blue-green foliage. Requires good natural light. Fertilise occasionally during spring and autumn and pinch off any unwanted stem-hugging foliage
POTS
Our pots are made at the highest standards. Our manufacturer in China guarantees that the glazing used for their pots do NOT contain any LEAD. In future shipments from our manufacturer the pots will be individually labelled mentioning this fact
