BONSAI COURSE - FULL-DAY WORKSHOP

Subject to a minimum of four enrolments, our full-day workshops are usually held on the first Saturday of each month. To maximise practical tuition, classes are limited to six trainees. Early registration is therefore strongly recommended.

BONSAI PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUES

Our full-day program introduces essential knowledge and skills to start you producing and successfully caring for your own bonsai.

Professional growers de-mystify this ancient art through introducing basic principles and techniques of modern bonsai development and maintenance. Small group workshops are conducted in a pleasant stimulating atmosphere, emphasising practical hands-on learning.

At the end of the day, you will have an appreciation of bonsai traditions, popular styles and design principles. You will know how to propagate and select suitable plants, and be able to shape and develop trees through pruning and wiring, root pruning and potting. You will also be aware of the key elements of successful lifetime care, including position, watering, fertilising, pest and disease control.

As well as having developed your own unique bonsai starter, you will take home essential knowledge and skills to further produce and maintain beautiful bonsai for gifts or your own pleasure.
